Parents and Coaches,

As of 4pm, the baseball fields at Keystone Little League are playable.  Field 3 will need some work at home plate.  At this point, practices will be held as scheduled.

• Coaches – please keep in communication with your player agents for the latest updates on field conditions.
• Parents – please keep in communiacation with your team manager for any new updates.

Keystone Little League will be holding a CPR training class on February 11th.  Hillsborough County requires that each team have at least (1) coach certified in CPR training.  If you are managing or coaching a team this spring, please talk to your fellow coaches about taking this certification course.  The more coaching tandems we have in compliance, the the better we can respond to emergencies with the kids at our park.

The class will run from 8am to 12pm on Saturday, February 11th.  Space is limited to 30 trainees, however, we will open a 2nd class in the afternoon once the morning session is full.  The CPR Certification class is being taught by First Response CPR & Training and certification is good for 2 years from the American Heart Association.

Hillsborough County Coaching Certification Class

Thursday, January 26th at 7:15pm

Keystone Little League will be hosing a Hillsborough County Coaching Certification Class on Thursday, January 26th at 7:15pm.  The class will be held at the Westchase Recreation Center, located behind Westchase Elementary School.

Per Hillsborough County rules, all coaches at Keystone Little League are required to receive a coaching certification (this is required separately from any coaches clinics or background checks).  If you do not have a county coaching certification or it expires prior to May 31, 2012, you are required to attain/renew a coaching certification prior to the beginning of the season.

• Who:  All KLL Volunteers who do not have a valid coaching certification card

Keystone Little League is holding tryouts for all levels of Baseball and Softball except for 4-6 year olds.  PeeWee Division (4-6 year olds) do not have tryouts.  Use your child’s league age to determine which tryouts to attend (what is my child’s league age?).  We will email tryout reminders and/or schedule changes:

Baseball

Except for Minor A / Rookie Tryouts, each division will hold 2 days of tryouts.  Players are expected to attend both sessions.  If you are unable to attend an assigned tryout, please email doug.fagan@keystonell.org.

Junior/Senior Division – will hold “spring training” practices during the pre-season prior to the draft.  You will be contacted by Dan Marlin with dates and times of these practices as they are announced.  If you have questions, please email dan.marlin@keystonell.org

Major Division – attendance required for both days (tryouts completed)

Softball

Softball tryouts are being held by league age group.  Please attend all tryouts for your age group.  Each session is scheduled to last about 90 minutes.  If you are unable to attend an assigned tryout, please email tom.brennan@keystonell.org:

Saturday January 14th (all on field 2)

• 9:00am | 7 and 8 year olds
• 11:00am | 9 and 10 year olds
• 1:00pm | 11 and older

Tuesday January 17th

• 6:00pm | 7 and 8 year olds (field 6)
• 6:00pm |  9 and 10 year olds (field 2)

Wednesday January 18th

• 6:00pm | 11 and older (field 2)

Major Division Tryouts are this weekend.  All 11 and 12 year old players are required to try out.  The dates/times are:

• Saturday, January 7 – 10am
• Sunday, January 8 – 2pm

Tryouts will start promply at the schedule times, so please arrive early to give your son enough time to warm up. Players are :

• to wear baseball attire and bring glove, helmet, and bat
• to meet at the concession area where they will be assigned to their tryout groups.
• expected to attend BOTH tryout days.

The tryout sessions will last about 3 hours each.  If you have questions OR your player is unable to attend either or both sessions, email doug.fagan@keystonell.org.

Wednesday, January 4th  is the last day to register for the 2012 Spring Seasons at Keystone Little League.  To guarantee that your child will play this spring season, please register online and bring your documentation to our on-site registration.  Registration is held at the Keystone Little League Board Room at Ed Radice Park.
