Coaches/Volunteer Certification
Keystone Little League depends on volunteers to make our program successful. If you wish to volunteer at Keystone Little League, you are required to submit volunteer application paperwork and documentation.
Step 1 – Submit Application and Documentation
The following forms are required to coach youth sports in Hillsborough County and within Keystone Little League:
Coaches
- 2012 Little League Volunteer Form
REQUIRED to serve as a Little League Volunteer (coaches, managers, board members, etc.) - Hillsborough County SSN Consent Form
REQUIRED – authorizes Hillsborough County to use your Social Security Number for a background check - Hillsborough County Volunteer Application
REQUIRED to serve as a Hillsborough County Volunteer (coaches, managers, board members, etc.)
- A copy of your drivers license must also be submitted
Document Turn-in
To turn in documents, please make arrangements by emailing volunteers@keystonell.org. Documents and drivers license can be scanned and emailed to volunteers@keystonell.org as well.
Step 2 – Background Check
- Upon receipt of your applications, Keystone Little League will conduct a background check.
Step 3 – Coaches Certification Requirement
Upon approval of your background check, you will be eligible to attend a Hillsborough County Coaching Clinic. Hillsborough County requires all youth sports coaches to complete a “Coaches Certification Class” and possess a valid certification card at all times when coaching at county facilities.
- If you do not already possess a valid “Coaches Certification Card”, download the 2012 Hillsborough County Coaches Training Schedule to find an available county coaching class date and time.
- A NYSCA Certification can be substituted for the Hillsborough County Coaches Certification. Visit http://www.nays.org/coaches/ for more information on NYSCA Certification.
- Coaches are required to wear their coaches certification card on a lanyard at all times while coaching or practicing.
Step 4 – Keystone Coaching Clinic
Beginning with the 2011 season, Keystone Little League will be holding a coaching clinic for our managers and coaches. All coaches from Majors, Minors, and Pee Wee divisions are expected to attend. More Info…
